Proper Care for Lasting Elegance
At Region Cabinet, we want your cabinets to maintain their beauty and functionality for years to come. That’s why we’ve compiled essential care and maintenance tips to help you preserve their pristine condition.
Cabinet Care Guidelines
- Clean your cabinets regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth to prevent dust buildup.
- Use warm water or a gentle dish soap diluted in water for cleaning.
- After cleaning, always dry the surfaces completely to prevent moisture damage.
- Wipe spills and splashes immediately to avoid stains or damage to the cabinet finish.
- Once or twice a year, apply a premium, oil-based furniture polish to enhance and protect the surface. Choose a clear emulsion polish rather than wax-based products to prevent residue buildup.
- Protect your cabinets from prolonged exposure to high heat. If you’re using a self-cleaning oven, consider removing nearby cabinet doors and drawers during the cleaning cycle.
- For cabinets with glass panels, use non-ammonia-based cleaners. Spray the cleaner onto a cloth rather than directly onto the glass to avoid overspray on the wood.
What to Avoid?
- Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, and harsh detergents, as they can scratch and damage the finish.
- Refrain from using polishes with silicone or petroleum-based ingredients.
- Never use products containing ammonia or bleach, as they may cause discoloration or surface damage.
- Avoid using kitchen sponges or dishcloths for cleaning, as these may leave grease or debris on the surface.
- Do not place heat-producing appliances directly beneath cabinets, as excess heat and moisture can compromise the finish. If condensation appears, wipe it off promptly.
- Steer clear of brass or silver polishes on hardware, as they may contain chemicals that harm the cabinet’s surface.
